Sauce & Puree Spout Pouch Sealing Machine Guide

Sauce, ketchup and puree pouches require stable fitment positioning and a repeatable seal around the spout flange. Product viscosity affects filling and handling, while the welding process must be selected from the pouch laminate and fitment material.

Typical applications

  • Ketchup and tomato paste
  • Sauces and condiments
  • Fruit puree and jam
  • Honey and other viscous products

Information needed before selection

  • Laminate and fitment material compatibility
  • Residue-control requirements around the sealing area
  • Pouch dimensions and spout location
  • Seal-strength and leak acceptance criteria
  • Cleaning and changeover requirements

Machine selection notes

KQ-2601A is a reference for premade pouches 70–160 mm wide with 6–15 mm spouts. For larger sauce or food-service pouches, KQ-2608C covers the published 180–350 mm pouch-width range. Final model selection requires samples.

For a technical review, send representative pouch and spout samples, drawings where available, the required output and the intended seal test. Kengine can then compare the materials with the machine range and state the proposed tooling and operating assumptions in the quotation.

Buyer questions

Does sauce viscosity change the welding process?

Viscosity mainly affects filling and product handling. Spout welding must still be validated from the pouch laminate, fitment flange and required seal test.

Can printed laminated pouches be tested before purchase?

Yes. Supply finished or representative pouch samples and fitments so tooling, positioning and sealing settings can be checked before configuration is finalized.

What causes leakage around a pouch spout?

Common causes include contamination in the seal area, unsuitable temperature or pressure, insufficient dwell or cooling, misalignment and material incompatibility.
